Yo Gotti sat down with BIGVON before KMEL’s Summer Jam to talk about the controversy behind him unfollowing Angela Simmons, bringing out Mozzy, IAMSU & G-Eazy at the show, plus endorsing Hilary Clinton.
While touring with Logic, Vince Staples stops by KMEL to chop it up with BIGVON. The two spoke about how excited Vince is to have a high credit score and all the greatness that comes with it, “Do you know how much my cable bill is? No installation fees or nothin!.. They think I’m a white guy.” He says if he gets his credit score up to 800 he’s going to buy hip hop, going in on a deal with Jay- Z, saying “I got the credit, he got the money!”. and even describes what he would do if he did buy it.
Vince also talks about how in the beginning of “Norf Norf” many people think when he uses the word bitch he’s demeaning a woman but he says he was actually talking about a guy. Vince also expresses his thoughts on doing features saying that he doesn’t have as many verses as Lil Wayne or 2 Chainz. He ends by saying he’s learned a lot from Logic and G-Eazy, he has new music coming up, and he’s going to be doing more TV stuff.
With a release date of April 22nd just announced and cover art out for “Always Strive And Prosper”, A$AP Ferg visited the 106.1 KMEL studios to talk about the album calling it his most personal album, that really gives his cult following HIS story. He says this album is more musical than his past music saying DJ Khalil brought in a whole orchestra and opera singers to the studio for it. He also talks about the song with DJ Mustard & Missy Elliot calling it a true dance record that he loves. The A$AP member said people’s biggest misconception of him is that people think all he’s into is turn up music, which isn’t true. When asked what his illest line on the new album is he says that “New Level” as a whole is a bar and breaks down the many truths behind the song, including getting many people from his hood out of the hood. Lastly, he talks about his latest sneakers with ADIDAS being a tribute to not only A$AP Yams, but Harlem and being inspired by Dapper Dan by putting MCM & Gucci all over.
